The latest report of the U.S. Treasury Department on Treasury International Capital (TIC) Data shows that by the end of September the American treasury bonds held by China had reached USD585b. And China replaced Japan becoming the largest holder of the American treasury bonds. In September, the increased treasury bonds held by China reached USD43.6b, which broke the monthly record about the American treasury bonds of this year, and almost twice of the USD22.3b of last month. From January to September, China¡¯s total holding of American treasury bonds was USD107.4b. In addition to February and June which were in the net reductions, the other months were all in the net increase, and the holding has been in a large growth rate since July The continuous reduction for two month in holding of American treasury bonds showed in Japan, which had always been the top holder of American treasury bonds, declining from the USD586b of last month to USD573.2b, with a reduction of USD12.8b. Britain became the third-largest holder with USD338.4b.
